Roy is a Partner at Argyll and has thirteen years of corporate finance experience advising founders, shareholders and investors in a number of sectors including retail and consumer. Roy’s experience includes advising on mergers and acquisitions, equity fundraisings, management buy-outs and restructuring.

Select transactions in Roy’s career include:

  • fundraising for The Fold, a rapidly growing digitally native womenswear brand

  • sale of Explore Learning, the UK’s leading provider of tuition for primary school children, to Graphite Capital

  • sale of James Heal, a UK-based global leader in the manufacture of textile testing equipment, to US private equity firm Battery Ventures

  • acquisition of Wex Photographic and Calumet by AURELIUS to form Europe’s leading omnichannel vendor of products for photography enthusiasts and professional photographers

  • management buy-out of Smoothwall, the market leading provider of dynamic web filtering technology for the education and public sectors, supported by Tenzing

  • management buy-out of Hobbycraft, the UK’s largest arts & crafts retailer, supported by Bridgepoint Capital

Prior to Argyll, Roy worked in the Banking & Capital Markets team at PwC. He also spent four years working as an equity analyst in the Middle Market team at UBS.

Roy is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst.
